Arizona Hombu Dojo

Traditional Okinawan Martial Arts (Karate, Kobudo, Self-Defense, Samurai Arts)

Just click on MAP and you will find an interactive map to our dojo.

Stop by our dojo (Arizona School of Traditional Karate) and say "Konnichi Wa" (ko-knee-chee wa) (good day). Sit in our peanut gallery, watch a class and talk to our students. There never is any pressure to sign up as we are a traditional karate school and martial arts association. If you decide to join, our fees are reasonable and we have no contracts.

Find us at the 60 W. Baseline Center in Mesa, Arizona across the street from Gilbert. The edge of the building touches Baseline road, but our dojo entrance faces MacDonald Drive. As you drive East along Baseline from Country Club Road (Arizona Ave), continue past the traffic light at Fiesta Drive, past Walmart, past MacDonalds to the next traffic light and turn left (north) on MacDonald Drive and you will see us at the northeast corner.

Business History - Soke Hausel has been a martial artist since 1964 and certified as the Grandmaster of Shorin-Ryu Karate and Kobudo (Seiyo-Kai) in 1999. He moved the Hombu dojo from the University of Wyoming in 2006 and located the world headquarters (hombu) on the border of Chandler, Gilbert and Mesa. We are not a fly-by-night dojo or gym like some other businesses in the Phoenix Valley.
