Fees (Mesa, Arizona Dojo)

We do not teach martial arts for a living – we teach martial arts only because we love to. Thus we work to cover our costs & have some of the lowest rates in the US.

FEES (ARIZONA)

Adult Karate

  • Monthly Dues - $65/person (INDIVIDUAL) or $85/family (FAMILY MEMBERSHIP) (this allows one to train in all Tuesday, Thursday & Friday adult Shorin-Ryu karate, kobudo and self-defense classes. OR
  • Daily Fee - $10/day. This is for those members who cannot make all of the classes and find that only 1 class per week is sufficient for their training. This must be paid at the beginning of each class.

Family Karate

  • Anyone attending the Adult Karate Classes must be 13+ in age. If you have a family membership, your child can attend the Kids Karate Class while you train in the evening adult classes.

Special Classes

  • Private Lessons - $50/hour.
  • Private Group Lessons - $100/hour.
  • One Day Clinics - $1200
  • One Day Clinics (outside of Phoenix) - $2500 (plus expenses) (non-members) - ($1200 for members).

 International Membership

  • Membership in Seiyo Kai International costs $35 for the first year – this provides you with a membership card, window decal, patch for your karate uniform, and monthly e-newsletter.  After the first year, SKI fees are only $20/year. 

Testing & Certification

  • Periodically, students are asked to test. Depending on the student, this typically occurs after 3 to 6 months of training (longer for kids). If you pass the exam, you will be promoted after you pay your fee. All mudansha ranks (9th kyu to 1st kyu) known as color belts, are $50/rank. Black belt certifications typically require 2 to 5 years between testing. The Shodan rank (1st degree black belt) fee is $150. All consecutive ranks are an additional $25/rank. If you do not pass, you do not pay.
