Arizona High School Students Learn Traditional Karate

Posted by Dan Hausel, Soke on November 5, 2015 at 3:15 PM

Rverview High School in Mesa Arizona invited World Black Belt Martial Arts Hall-of-Fame Karate instructor, grandmaster, and award-winning speaker Soke Hausel and Sensei Bill Borea (also a Hall of Fame martial artist) to speak to the high school students about martial arts and teach them traditional martial arts. The two Hall-of-Fame karate instructors were quite impressed by the ability of the high school students and also impressed by their manners.

During the session, Grandmaster Hausel taught the students two forms (known on Okinawa as kata). All of the students learned the complex forms without great difficulty and demonstrated good balance.

Grandmaster Hausel and the Arizona Hombu dojo are trying to reach out to the schools and churches to introduce traditional martial arts - a discipline that teaches moral philosophy and ethics.
