Arizona Hombu (the Hombu, world headquarters, for Seiyo Shorin-Ryu Karate in Mesa, Arizona) is searching for a few kids to learn Okinawan Shorin-Ryu karate in a brand new Kid's Karate Class starting in April for the first 12 registered children (ages 8 to 15). The Class is scheduled for Tuesdays after school and taught by Martial Arts Legend and Hall of Fame member, Soke (Grandmaster) Hausel, 12th dan (Seiyo Shorin-Ryu Karate and Kobudo), 10th dan (Shorin-Ryu Karate), and Shihan (Master) (Juko-Ryu bujutsu).

Soke Hausel has considerable teaching experience. In the past he taught at Arizona State University, University of New Mexico, University of Utah, University of Wyoming in departments of Physical Education, Kinesiology, Extended Studies and Club Sports, and taught at several private gyms and dojos over the years. The class will teach the students karate basics including stances, blocks, kicks, punches, falls, kata (forms), respect, traditiions, martial arts history and some Japanese.

Unlike most martial arts schools in the Phoenix Valley, Soke Hausel's credentials are displayed on Hombu Wall at the Shorin-Ryu dojo at 60 W. Baseline Road in Mesa Arizona, so that parents can verifiy credentials. Fee's can be paid at the Arizona Hombu Karate Dojo (Cash or Check), or by Paypal.
