Gillette Wyoming Karate Students Get a Kick out of Karate

Posted by Dan Hausel, Soke on January 3, 2016 at 12:15 AM

Shihan Kyle Gewecke and some of his young students were recently high-lighted in the Gillette News Record. Shihan Gewecke was introduced to karate many years ago as a student at the University of Wyoming when he signed up for Beginning Karate in the Department of Physical Education. After joining the class, he fell in love with karate and continued this path by attending the University of Wyoming Campus Shorin-Ryu Karate and Kobudo Club three nights a week until he graduated from the university. At that point, he began teaching karate to both young students at Lakeview Elementary and also to adults and also attended martial arts clinics at the Casper, Wyoming Shorin-Ryu dojo, the University of Wyoming, the Juko Kai International Hombu dojo in New Braunfels, Texas, and also scheduling a series of martial arts clinics in Gillette.
